Eric Show, former pitcher for the San Diego Padres, died of an overdose of heroin and cocaine, the San Diego County Medical Examiner said Monday.

Autopsy results revealed that Show died of a self-administered, accidental overdose of the two drugs, according to George Dickason, investigator for the San Diego County medical examiner.Show was found dead in his bed on the morning of March 16 at the Rancho L'Abri drug rehabilitation center in rural San Diego County.

Show, 37, helped pitch the Padres to the National League pennant in 1984. A year later, he gave up Pete Rose's 4,192nd career hit, which broke Ty Cobb's major league record.
