Rowan M. "Slim" Butler, 81, passed away Monday morning, July 25, 1994, at his home in Richfield.
He was born October 19, 1912, in Butlerville (Granite), Utah to Wiliam Wooton and Mary Evelyn MaGee Butler. He married Meletta Alvey June 8, 1935, in Evanston, Wyoming. They were later sealed in the Manti LDS Temple in 1978.Rowan's surviving family consists of his wife, Meletta; children, Earla Gay and Frank Sumsion, Darwin and DeeAnn Butler, Cheryl and Val Russell, Gary and Laura Butler, Michelle and Peter Kline; 16 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; sisters and brother, Jean Poulsen, Mary Bingham, Gail Butler.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, July 28, 1994, at 1 p.m., in the Richfield 1st LDS Ward Chapel, 985 South 400 West, Richfield, Utah. Friends may call at the Neal S. Magleby & Sons Mortuary, Wednesday evening from 7 to 9 p.m., and at the church on Thursday from 11 to 12:30 p.m. Burial will be in the Richfield City Cemtery, with military rites accorded by the VFW Sevier Post #5050.
