BYU is ranked No. 20 in the USA TODAY-CNN preseason football coaches' poll published on Friday.
The Cougars, who finished last season 6-6 and were unranked at the end of the season, received 281 points.Florida is ranked No. 1 and Florida State is rated No. 2 by the coaches. Notre Dame, which BYU plays on Oct. 15, is ranked fourth, one spot behind Nebraska and one ahead of Michigan.
Other WAC schools earning points in the poll are Utah (12), Fresno State (11) and Colorado State (3).
