The white polyester suit is stayin' alive.

An anonymous European collector paid $145,500 for the body-hugging duds that John Travolta discoed in during the 1977 movie "Saturday Night Fever." The sale Wednesday was the highest price paid for a Hollywood costume. Christie's presale estimate for the suit was $30,000-$50,000.Paul Jenkins, Christie's director of collectibles, attributed the high sale price to Travolta's success in "Pulp Fiction," a resurgence of interest in 1970s fashion and music, and the fact that its previous owner was film critic Gene Siskel.

The previous record was $38,500, for a costume from the Marilyn Monroe film "Some Like It Hot," he said.
