WEBER APPOINTS 3 TO FOOTBALL STAFF

Weber State University football coach, Dave Arslanian, announced the appointment of three members to his football staff.

Derek Mason has been named receivers coach. Steve Nejman has been named linebacker coach and Bonnie Donaldson will serve as administrative coordinator. Mason and Donaldson replace Mark Gorscak who held down both positions. Gorscak left July 15 to serve as a full-time scout for the Pittsburgh Steelers organization.Mason, 24, graduated from Camelback High School in Phoenix, Ariz., and attended Northern Arizona University. He was a four year letterman and two year starter for the Lumberjacks. His first two years at NAU, he was coached by current WSU defensive coordinator, Paul Arslanian.

"Derek is a very intelligent young man with a bright future ahead of him in the coaching profession," said Dave Arslanian. "He played in the Big Sky for four years, so he has a good feel for what we are trying to do. Our receiving corp is in for a really positive experience with him."

Donaldson's position entails a variety of work loads. She will be responsible for budgets, travel, serve as liaison from football to the rest of the athletic staff, serve as liaison for pro scouts. She will oversee the WSU football summer camps as well.

Nejman spent the past six years on the football staff as a graduate and later a part-time restricted earnings coach.
