The front-runner to become the next coach of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers wore the smile of a man who had received good news.

Tony Dungy stopped short of saying he's in, although it appeared all but official Sunday night that he'll get a shot at trying to turn the NFL's losingest franchise of the last 20 years into a winner.The Minnesota Vikings defensive coordinator had his first face-to-face meeting with Bucs owner Malcolm Glazer amid speculation that an announcement could be made today.

Dungy was laughing and smiling as he left a popular steakhouse where he and his wife Lauren had dinner with the Glazer family and other Bucs officials, including general manager Rich McKay.

"I feel good," he said after being cornered by reporters and television cameramen who staked out the restaurant for nearly three hours.
