Four Hells Angels members and two supporters listened impassively Monday as charges were read at their trial for one of the most stunning killings in the Nordic biker war.
The six men are charged with murder in the March 10 shooting of Uffe Larsen, a member of the rival Bandidos motorcycle gang, at the international airport in Copenhagen. Three other Bandidos were wounded in the shooting and another was wounded in an attack the same day at the airport in Oslo, Norway. The defendants, who pleaded not guilty, cannot be named under a court order. If found guilty, they face up to life in prison.
Until the airport shootings, most of the attacks in the gang feud had taken place at or near the bikers' rural clubhouses. But in the past eight months, attacks have increasingly occurred in heavily populated areas.
