Talbert Medical Group, one of Utah's largest physician groups with more than 35 years of experience in health-care delivery, has joined United HealthCare of Utah, the state's third largest health maintenance organization.
The deal will add Talbert's physicians to United's physician network, providing the choice of an additional 100 physicians and medical centers to United's members along the Wasatch Front."This agreement further improves our members' access to health care. It will increase the location and selection choices for the 100,000 Utahns we insure," said Tom Davis, United's chief executive officer. "We work in a kaleidoscopic industry where with another turn, our network expands and Talbert opens its doors to multiple health plans," he said.
The seven Talbert facilities now receiving United's members are Davis Health Care Center, Layton; Greenwood Medical Center, Midvale; Mt. Ogden Family Medical Center, Ogden; Parkway Medical Center, Orem; Redwood Medical Center, and the Senior Specialty Center, both in Salt Lake City; and the Westridge Medical Center, West Valley City.
The agreement allows United members to utilize the Talbert facilities and receive full-service health care from the physicians.
Davis said United members will benefit from the convenience offered by Talbert's primary care, X-ray, laboratory, pharmacy and optical services located under one roof.
United serves 1,500 employers and more than 110,000 Utahns and contracts with 1,500 physicians, 12 hospitals and 100 pharmacies along the Wasatch Front. Talbert has 1,200 employees and 150 health-care providers in the seven medical centers.
