Our darling wife and wonderful mother, Joyce Lyneer Meldrum Thomson, passed away peacefully with the setting sun on Thursday, October 9, 1997.

She was born October 25, 1926 in Cardston, Alberta, Canada to Bryan Barton Meldrum and Wanda Joyce Bates Meldrum. Married Edwin VanAllen, May 2, 1947; later divorced. They had nine children. Married her high school sweetheart, Rex Thomson on January 20, 1989. Her kisses could still curl his toes. Member LDS Church.Survived by her husband, Rex; children, Candace (Larry) Hinman; Barton (June) VanAllen; Mariel (Ken) Bauer; Jon (Karen) VanAllen; Anthony (Carley) VanAllen; Jared (Roxanne) VanAllen; Melodee (Roy) Stringer; Jamie (John) Kelly; eight stepchildren whom she loved as her own, Gerry Silver; Ruth Silver; David, Allan, Robert, Gordon and Joyce Thomson, and Heather Foote; 35 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; sister, Mariel Selk and brother, Ernest Meldrum, both of Canada. Preceded in death by her parents and daughter, Hollie Poole.

Funeral services will be held at 12 noon on Monday, October 13, 1997 in the Wasatch Lawn Mortuary Chapel, 3401 South Highland Drive where friends may call from 10:45-11:45 a.m. prior to services. Interment, West Jordan City Cemetery.
