Hootie and the Blowfish have settled a $150 million lawsuit by a music promoter who claimed he discovered the band and then was left in the dust when Hootie hit it big.

The terms, agreed upon Monday, were not disclosed. Lawyers said it was cheaper to settle than to go to trial.Henry Neuman claimed in the 1996 lawsuit that he discovered the band while serving as host of a talent showcase that Hootie won five years earlier in Rock Hill, outside Charlotte, N.C.
