Loving wife, mother, grandmother, aunt and friend, Ruby Goodson Hyde, 87, passed away December 11, 1997 in Salt Lake City, Utah, of causes incident to age.
Born August 2, 1910 in Meadville, Mississippi, the daughter of James Goodson and Annie Krout. Married Herbert Hyde, June 25, 1947 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Preceded in death by her husband. Ruby was active in the LDS Church, holding leadership and teaching positions in the Primary, Mutual and Relief Society organizations. Served as a full-time missionary in Great Britain and the Northern States. Her greatest joy was her grandchildren. She enjoyed cooking and entertaining. She was a successful business woman, operating Bratten's Cove Seafood restaurant from 1965 to 1987. She loved gardening. Many consider her to be their special friend.Survived by her three children, Paul and Jan Hyde, Susan and Bryce Wade and David Hyde; also by 18 grandchildren, Marc, Michael, Spencer, Emily, and Mary Jane Hyde; Matthew, Daniel, Will, Benjamin, Emily, Sarah, Lissa, Richard, Jason and Michael Wade; Adam, Nicole, and Gary Hyde, all of Salt Lake City; also survived by her brother, Cornelius Goodson, of Kaysville, UT.
Funeral services will be held Monday, December 15th, 12 noon at the Monument Park Second Ward, 1005 South 2000 East, Salt Lake City. Friends and family may call Sunday, Dec. 14th at Larkin Sunset Lawn, 2350 East 1300 South, 5 to 7 p.m., and at the church Monday, one hour prior to the service.
