Gordon Lee Jacox, age 68, passed away peacefully Monday, October 12, 1998 at Lakeview Hospital from cancer.

He was born March 8, 1930 in Lander, Wyoming; son of Charles Elwood and Elsie Salmon Jacox. Gordon married Yvonne Young, June 3, 1954 in the Salt Lake Temple. He made his home in Bountiful, Utah in 1969.He graduated from Davis High School in 1948. He attended Utah State University, graduated from Brigham Young University in 1955, attended UCLA, and received his Master's and Doctorate Degrees from the University of Utah in Business management.

His background includes meteorology, physics, engineering, consulting, and his great love, education. He was a professor at Weber State University for 22 years in business management. He consulted for small businesses and volunteered business services for the community especially in S.C.O.R.E. (Service Core of Retired Executives).

He was always a faithful member of the LDS Church. He was a convert in 1948, and served a mission in the Texas-Louisiana Mission from 1950-52. He later served with his wife, in the Atlanta, Georgia Mission, from 1992-93. He has also served faithfully in many church callings including, branch president, counselor in the bishopric, stake High Council, and as ward and stake clerk. His special love was teaching the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

He is survived by his loving wife, Yvonne Young Jacox, Bountiful; children, Jerilyn (Brad) Volmar, Kaysville; Joanne (Curtis) Hoehne, Provo; Jeanette (Mark) Lomax, Layton; Mike (Lori) Jacox, College Station, TX; Scott (Becky) Jacox, Farmington; Brad (Alyson) Jacox, England; Brent (Merrit) Jacox, Kaysville; Craig Jacox, Bountiful; Sister Juanita Monaghan, Mountain Home, ID; Sister Anna Marie Delauder, Monmouth, OR; and 38 adored grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 17, 1998 at 11 a.m. at the Bountiful Hills Ward, 1190 East Bountiful Hills Drive (900 South). Friends may call Friday evening from 6-8 p.m. at Russon Brothers Bountiful Mortuary, 295 North Main, and Saturday from 9:45-10:45 a.m. at the church prior to services. Interment-Bountiful City Cemetery.
