A Northwest Airlink baggage handler was killed when she apparently walked into the turning propeller blades of a small aircraft.
Shara May, 44, was killed Tuesday night at Memphis International Airport.May was killed as she walked from the plane's nose to its tail to unplug an electrical cord supplying startup power for the Saab 340 preparing to take off, said D. Philip Reed, a company vice president.
Standard procedure calls for workers to walk around a plane's wings at all times, Reed said.
