Tenor Luciano Pavarotti will hold his annual charity concert this year in Modena, Italy.

Pavarotti said Thursday the June 9 concert will benefit the Pavarotti & Friends Liberian Children's Village, to provide refuge for children in Liberia. Thousands of children were wounded, made homeless and orphaned in the West African nation's civil war from 1989 to 1996.Performers are to include Jon Bon Jovi, Natalie Cole, Celine Dion, the Spice Girls, Stevie Wonder and Trisha Yearwood, among others. Phil Ramone has signed on to produce the show and album.

Filmmaker Spike Lee is scheduled to direct the charity event, Pavarotti said.
