RIVERTON, UT--Ernest Leon "Chris" Christensen, 78, died October 24, 1999 in St. George.

He was born June 20, 1921 in Herriman, UT to Ernest A. and Mildred Bodell Christensen. He married Karla Tenney on January 4, 1947 in Vernal, UT. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Provo LDS Temple in November of 1977. Chris and his wife lived in Lehi and later retired to the St. George area. Chris was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. He served his country in World War II as an Officer and a Cadet Instructor. Chris was an avid horseman, team and calf roper. He was the top sales representive for Miller Western Wear, and was a General Manager for Hinckley Dodge. He dearly loved his wife and family, and was a role model to all of them. He was a man of honesty and integrity, his word was his bond. He loved life and had a great sense of humor. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.Chris is survived by his wife: Karla; one son: Clay (Lori) Christensen of Lehi, UT; three daughters: Kathy Reid of Salt Lake City, UT; Debra (Darrell) Cannon of Riverton, UT; Lee Anne Crowton of Lehi, UT; 14 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; one brother: Jerry (Sandy) Christensen of Gooding, ID; and two sisters: Maureen (Elton) Bangerter; JoAnne (Ren) Watrous, both of Salt Lake City, UT. He was preceded in death by his parents; and brothers: Richard Christensen and Kearns Christensen.

Graveside Services will be Thursday, October 28, 1999 at 1 p.m. in the Lehi City Cemetery. Visitations will be Thursday, at the Broomhead Funeral Home in Riverton, UT, 12600 South 2200 West, from 10 to 12 noon prior to the graveside services.
