Who to watch: Running back Luke Staley. The freshman averages 6 yards per carry and has scored 9 touchdowns this season. With fellow freshman running back Fahu Tahi out of action due to a high ankle sprain, the rushing burden rests even more heavily on Staley.

Who to watch: Running back Scotty McKay. McKay ranks fifth in the conference in rushing (69 ypg), second in all-purpose yards (121 ypg), and third in kickoff returns (24 yards per return). In a losing effort against Utah, the junior halfback rushed for 99 yards on 14 carries and caught two passes for 41 yards. . . . Linebacker Craig Thorstenson. Over the last three games, he has averaged 12 tackles.
