Notes: Coach LaVell Edwards will be shooting for his 250th career victory. . . . BYU will face five teams this season that have or will have a bye week before playing the Cougars. Who to watch: Running back Scotty McKay. McKay ranks fifth in the conference in rushing (69 ypg), second in all-purpose yards (121 ypg), and third in kickoff returns (24 yards per return). In a losing effort against Utah, the junior halfback rushed for 99 yards on 14 carries and caught two passes for 41 yards. . . . Linebacker Craig Thorstenson. Over the last three games, he has averaged 12 tackles.

Notes: Air Force has won seven straight road games and 12 of its last 14 dating back to 1997. . . .This is Air Force's first trip to Provo since 1993, when BYU won 30-3. . . . Air Force is playing a ranked team for the first time since defeating No. 25 Wyoming last season.
