In August 1916, the Deseret News joined other American newspapers in the featuring of daily comic strips. The first one, "Just Kids," was followed by such favorites over the years as "The Katzenjammer Kids," "Maggie and Jiggs" and "Mutt and Jeff." From a single panel per day to a page or more of regular comics is part of the story of modern newspapers.
