T'WOLVES, SPURS TO JAPAN: The Minnesota Timberwolves and the San Antonio Spurs will play two regular season games in Tokyo in November, the NBA said Thursday.

The scheduled matchups mark the fifth time NBA regular season games will have been played here, according to the league.

NETS HIRE ASSISTANTS: Jim Lynam and Eddie Jordan, both with experience as NBA head coaches, were hired as assistants on the staff of New Jersey Nets interim coach Don Casey on Wednesday.

Lynam, 57, has 10 years experience as a head coach with San Diego, the Los Angeles Clippers, Philadelphia and most recently with Washington.

Jordan was the coach of the Sacramento Kings for the final 15 games of the 1996-97 season and the following year.

MINNESOTA MOVES: The Minnesota Timberwolves said Wednesday they have signed Bill Curley for the rest of the season and Dennis Scott to a 10-day contract.

Curley was traded to the New Jersey Nets last Thursday along with Stephon Marbury as part of a nine-player deal. The Nets then waived Curley on Saturday. Curley had appeared in 16 games with Minnesota and averaged 2.4 points and 1.2 rebounds per game.
