Jon Barry, Shooting guard, #20Height: 6'5" Weight: 210 Years pro: 7 Age: 29

The coach says: Like him as an off-the-bench guy. Plays with great energy. Not a great ballhandler. Can hit the outside shot. Will look to shoot the three. Might have found a home with the Kings. Really gets after it when he plays. Needs minutes. Good passer.

Tariq Abdul-Wahad, Shooting guard, #9

Height: 6'6" Weight: 223 Years pro: 2 Age: 24

The coach says: Saw a lot of him at San Jose State and thought then he would be an NBA player. Changed his name from Olivier St. Jean. Another change is going from a small forward to a big guard. Great athletic ability. Must become a better outside shooter. Has a chance to become an outstanding player with continued work. Will guard Hornacek.

Vlade Divac, Center, #21

Height: 7'1" Weight: 260 Years pro: 10 Age: 31

The coach says: A very solid player. Fine passer, good face-up shooter. Gives teams trouble with his passing out of the low post against double teams. Like Tim Duncan, can play all over the court. Led Lakers in rebounding for four straight years. Over 50-percent field-goal shooter for career, and 70 percent from the free-throw line.

L. Funderburke, Power forward, #51

Height: 6'9" Weight: 230 Years pro: 2 Age: 28

The coach says: Backs up Webber. Can score with a jumper or off the glass. Was a second-round pick in '94 and played overseas (Greece and France) before joining Kings in '97-'98. Shoots over 50 percent from the field, 70 percent at the line. Can score big numbers if given the time.

Michael Hawkins, Shooting guard, #7

Height: 6'0" Weight: 180 Years pro: 2 Age: 26

The coach says: A former CBA All-Star. Saw limited playing time for the Kings. Played on Team USA at the FIBA World Championships in Athens last summer. Will see limited time in the series.

Vernon Maxwell, Shooting guard, #3

Height: 6'4" Weight: 190 Years pro: 11 Age: 33

The coach says: Can light it up in a hurry, as the Jazz well-know. Very good three-point shooter and loves to take the big shot. Physical player. Will accept the defensive challenge of guarding a point guard or big guard. Played in many big games during his stay with Houston ('91-'95). His mercurial temperament is his biggest weakness.

Scot Pollard, Center, #31

Height: 6'11" Weight: 265 Years pro: 2 Age: 24

The coach says: A very pleasant surprise! Was picked up on waivers from the Hawks. Will go hard to the offensive boards. Knows his limitations (role). Has started several games and played well. Played at Kansas. Best sideburns in league! Like what I see of this young man. Will guard Malone some.

Corliss Williamson, Small forward, #34

Height: 6'7" Weight: 245 Years pro: 4 Age: 25

The coach says: Has done a nice job in moving from the "4" to the "3." Is able to post up most "3s." Russell will have his hands full in this matchup. Bryon must make him pay on the defensive end. A free agent in July, will be in line for a big one! Just a fair free-throw shooter.

Chris Webber, Power forward, #4

Height: 6'10" Weight: 245 Years pro: 6 Age: 26

The coach says: Missed several games wity a back problem. A terrific talent on the low block. Can face up or score with a jump-hook going to the middle (left to right). Will be the toughest matchup Malone has faced this year. Great rebounder! Terrible free-throw shooter.

Jason Williams, Point guard, #55

Height: 6'1" Weight: 190 Years pro: R Age: 23

The coach says: Is on the right team! Surrounded by scorers. Only needs to refine his game and his is there. A poor shooter with the ability to score in "bunches." Can get a shot whenever he wants but needs to learn the difference between good shots and questionable ones. Will launch the 3 from anywhere. A fun player to watch. A great point matchup: The Hall of Famer vs. The Rookie.

P. Stojanovic, Guard/forward, #16

Height: 6'9" Weight: 222 Years pro: R Age: 21

The coach says: A great international player in Greece (MVP with Paok in 1998). Drafted in first round (14th overall) by the Kings in '96. Played three seasons in Greece before the Kings signed him this year. A terrific shooterr with great poise for a young player. Could end up being a starter in the next few years. Don't even lose sight of him, he can fill it!

Jerome James, Center, #53

Height: 7'1" Weight: 300 Years pro: R Age: 23

The coach says: Will not be a factor in this series. Will play little if at all.
