A man who set fire to an LDS Church meetinghouse accepted a plea agreement Tuesday and may face up to life in prison.

Kevin James Holfeltz, 19, pleaded guilty to one count of first-degree felony aggravated arson in connection with the January torching of the meetinghouse, 1300 E. Turquoise Way (10020 South). In exchange for his plea, prosecutors dismissed additional charges of third-degree felony burglary, joy riding, failure to stop for a police officer, and class B misdemeanor theft.

Court documents indicate Holfeltz admitted he broke into the church on Jan. 3, spread a fire accelerant and lit the meetinghouse ablaze.
