Dean Harmon Lee, beloved husband, brother, father, and grandfather was released from his calling here on earth on Sunday, October 29, 2000.
Dad was the sixth son born to Samuel Perry Lee and Bertha Harmon Lee, on September 18, 1929. Dad undoubtedly had a happy reunion Sunday. His mother Bertha who passed when dad was only seven, his dad Samuel Perry; Dad's other mother, Chloris Rich Lee; his brothers Wayne, Claude, and Ruel; and his grandchildren Lisa and Jordan waited anxiously to take him in their loving arms.
Dad, as he has always done, gave us his best counsel and then left us to complete the task.
He will be missed by his loving wife, Lorna Nelson Lee; his brothers and sister, Stuart, Boyd, Maurice, Noel, and Cherie; his children, Robyn (Linda), Tamra, Bryan (Linda), Darin (Dianne) and Dayna (Scott) Sorensen, and Phoebe Nez (Tinker). He was grandpa to 27 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
He supported his family by working for Utah Power and Light, Utah Research and Development, Bunnell, and Cyclops.
Dad wore his life out in service. He served for eight years as a counselor in the Cannon Fifth Ward Bishopric and was ordained Bishop of the Cannon Fifth Ward in January 1962. He served the Ward for 13 years. In June 1981 he became stake president of the Cannon Stake and lovingly served its members for almost ten years. He spent many happy days in service as a regional welfare agent and was still serving as a Chaplain for the Salt Lake City Police when he was released from this life. One of Dad's greatest regrets as he became ill with cancer was that he was unable to continue teaching his Gospel Doctrine class.
Funeral services will be held 1 p.m.. Thursday November 2, 2000 in the Cannon 5th Ward 1250 W. 1400 S. under the direction of Memorial Estates Mortuaries.
