Steven Reed Barlow, 29, passed away in a snowmobile accident Saturday, March 10, 2001 along with one of his best friends, Jason Wade.
He was born
October 28, 1971 in Ogden, Utah to Reed Harris and Diane Petterborg Barlow. He was raised in Fruit Heights and grad-uated from Davis High School in 1989. He served an LDS Mission to Madrid, Spain and graduated from Weber State University in 1998. He married Jenny Miller in the Salt Lake Temple on Dec. 27, 1994.
He was an active member of the LDS Church and was a member of the LeGrand Ward. He was an Eagle Scout and had served as Young Men's President and was the Scoutmaster at the time of his death. He worked for Mollerup Glass where he had the opportunity of working with his father-in-law and brothers-in-law which he loved. Steve was an avid outdoorsman. He loved camping, fishing, four-wheeling, snowmobiling, and every kind of watersport. He loved spending time with friends and family, especially barbecuing. He was a wonderful husband, father and son and was an example to everyone he met.
He is survived by his wife, Jenny, one daughter, Aly, and a future daughter, Salt Lake City. Also surviving are his parents, four brothers, Craig, Todd, Tyler, Fruit Heights; Curtis, Haaula, Hawaii; grandmother, Connie Petterborg, Clearfield; his in-laws, Art and Karen Miller, brother-in-law, Mike, Bountiful; brothers-in-law and wives, Arthur and Alicia, Bill and Cindy, Salt Lake City; Mark and Maralee, Fruit Heights; three nieces, one nephew, numerous aunts, uncles, cousins.
Preceded in death by his grandparents, Elwyn and Helen Barlow, and Don Petterborg.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, March 15, 2001 at 12 noon at the LeGrand Ward, 1078 So. McClelland Street, (1040 E.) Salt Lake City. Friends and family may call Wednesday from 6 - 8 p.m. at Lindquist's Layton Mortuary, 1867 No. Fairfield Road and Thursday from 9:45 - 11:45 a.m. at the church. Interment, Bountiful City Cemetery.
