Politician-turned-college president Bob Kerrey is returning to one of his previous roles — new father.

The 57-year-old former Nebraska governor and U.S. senator and his new wife are expecting a baby in October. "We are thrilled, and so are my children," Kerrey told the Lincoln Journal Star on Friday.

Kerrey and writer Sarah Paley were married in February after dating for five years. It is Paley's first marriage, Kerrey's second. Kerrey has two children from his first marriage — Ben, 26, and Lindsey, 24, both of Omaha.
