FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. (AP) — Brian Bingham rushed for two touchdowns and Clarence Moore caught a 7-yard pass for the go-ahead score in the third quarter as Northern Arizona beat Weber State 26-21 Saturday night.
Paul Ernster added two field goals for the Lumberjacks (4-1, 2-0 Big Sky).
Weber State (2-2, 0-1) wasted a big night from quarterback Tate Bennett, who threw for 320 yards and one touchdown and also scored on a 1-yard sneak early in the second quarter.
Bennett's 6-yard scoring toss to Chris McConnell 8:14 before halftime put the Wildcats ahead 14-7.
Northern Arizona closed its halftime deficit to 14-10 on Ernster's 29-yarder with 4:24 left and then took the lead at 16-14 on Clint Womack's TD pass to Moore 1:35 into the third quarter.
The score was set up by Johnny Marshall's 65-yard kickoff return
Ernster added a 41-yard field goal with 1:01 remaining in the quarter and Quinten Bennett's blocked punt set up Bingham's 3-yard touchdown run for a 26-14 lead with 12:51 to play.
Tate Bennett's 24-yard TD pass to Ryan Nath with 9:33 remaining closed Weber State's gap to 26-21.
Bingham also had a 4-yard scoring run in the second quarter for the Lumberjacks, who were limited to just 68 yards rushing on 39 carries. Bingham had 40 of those yards on 17 attempts.
Womack was 11-of-18 for 266 yards with Marshall catching three pass for 120 yards and Moore getting 111 yards on six receptions.
