1970 ~ 2003

In the presence of his family, who loved him, Geoffry Dean Lasson, 33, passed away from cancer August 21, 2003.

Geoff was born June 11, 1970 to Gerald Dean and Stacey Evans Lasson. He graduated from East High School, 1988, and received a degree in Political Science from the University of Utah, 1996. Geoff served a mission in Costa Rica for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He left his mission with a great knowledge of Costa Rica, a passion for the people and a deep desire to continue in missionary efforts in all aspects of his life.

Geoff married Stacy Strate April 28, 1995 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Geoff and Stacy had a deep abiding relationship, which flourished because of their desire to achieve significant goals together. Their strong friendship was based on their trust in each other and their faith in God. Geoff's capacity to enjoy life increased when he became a father. He imparted his love of the outdoors to his son, Alex (age 4). He was the ultimate teacher, hoping to instill in Alex the life lesson that the simple truths in life are the most important.

His career focused on computer technology where he found fulfillment in starting his own company. He set high standards and was a motivating influence to others, always encouraging them to strive toward and achieve challenging goals.

Geoff was preceded in death by his father, Gerald Dean Lasson, and grandparents, Edmund M. Evans, Glen Dean and Kate Tweddell Lasson. He is survived by his wife, Stacy; son, Alex; mother, Stacey Evans Lasson; sister, Amy (David) Webb; and grandmother, Marie Okland Evans.
