PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) — The Portland Trail Blazers signed guard Eddie Gill to a contract Wednesday.

The 6-foot, 190-pound Gill, who had been playing for the Dakota Wizards of the CBA, was expected to join the Blazers on Thursday night and be available for the team's game in Utah tonight.

Gill, who played in the 2004 CBA All-Star Game last month, averaged 18.1 points, 4.8 rebounds and eight assists in 25 games with Dakota this season.

Gill appeared in eight games with the New Jersey Nets during the 2000-01 season, averaging 4.9 points and three assists. He played in 23 games with the Memphis Grizzlies in 2001-02, averaging five points and 2.1 assists.
