OGDEN — Four Weber State football players earned first-team all-Big Sky honors.
Shane Barkdull, a defensive tackle from Kaysville; Dallas Drecksel, a strong safety from Salt Lake; Brady Fosmark, a defensive end from Clearfield; and Paul McQuistan, an offensive lineman from Lebanon, Oregon, were all named to the first team.
Twelve other Wildcats earned second-team or honorable-mention honors.
Barkdull had 46 tackles, 11.5 tackles for loss for minus-75 yards and tied with Fosmark for the most sacks on the team with eight. He added six pass breakups, two quarterback hurries, four recovered fumbles, one forced fumble and two blocked kicks.
Drecksel led the Wildcats in tackles with 81. He had 40 unassisted stops and added 3.5 tackles for loss with four pass breakups.
Fosmark was named first team for the third year in a row. He had 67 tackles (37 unassisted) and 15.5 tackles for loss for minus-71 yards. Of those tackles for loss, 8.0 were quarterback sacks for minus-50 yards. He leaves WSU as the all-time leader in tackles for loss with 66.5, sacks with 32.5 and forced fumbles with nine.
McQuistan was a unanimous choice at offensive tackle after being named honorable mention each of the past two seasons.
Second team selections were receiver Lynzell Jackson and offensive lineman Pat McQuistan.
Receiving honorable mention honors were tight end Drew Dukeshire, return specialist Bryant Eteuati, offensive lineman David Hale, running back Zach Hall, wide receiver Terry Larsen, quarterback Ian Pizarro, linebacker Tyler DeBry, cornerback Curlee Dorn, defensive lineman Derek Johnson and free safety John McBride.
