PORTLAND, Ore. — Portland Trail Blazers forward Darius Miles had surgery on his right knee and will miss the rest of the season.

An arthroscopic procedure uncovered the need for additional surgery, the team said.

Miles did not work out this summer and did not play in the preseason because of the persistent knee problem, which also required surgery last December.

WARRIORS' MURPHY SITS: Forward Troy Murphy missed the Golden State Warriors' game against Toronto on Tuesday night with soreness in his left heel.

Murphy, who averaged 12.7 points and 5.4 rebounds while starting each of the Warriors' first seven games, participated in pregame warmups, but wasn't healthy enough to play. Mickael Pietrus took his place in the starting lineup.
