JACKETS' MOVES: With injuries to captain Adam Foote and goaltender Pascal Leclaire, the Columbus Blue Jackets added defenseman Filip Novak and goalie Ty Conklin to the roster Monday. They were called up from the club's AHL affiliate in Syracuse. Foote and Leclaire sustained undisclosed lower-body injuries in Sunday's 6-2 victory over Ottawa. Fredrik Norrena will take over as the Blue Jackets' No. 1 goaltender.
BRUINS MOVES: The Boston Bruins recalled goaltender Hannu Toivonen and center Yan Stastny from Providence of the AHL on Monday. Toivonen was sent to Providence on Sunday to play against the Worcester Sharks. He stopped 26 of 28 shots in Providence's 3-2 shootout win. Stastny started the season with Boston, and had one assist in 11 games. He was sent to Providence on Nov. 13, where he has five assists in seven games.

BRITISH CAPTAIN: Nigel Sears is the new captain of Britain's Fed Cup team. Sears, who replaces Colin Beecher, will continue in his role as coach of women's tennis at the Lawn Tennis Association.
BRAZILIAN RESIGNS: Fernando Meligeni resigned as captain of Brazil's Davis Cup team Monday after nearly two years. Meligeni said he quit because budget constraints kept him from working on programs to develop young talent, and because of the low priority Brazilian tennis authorities gave the Davis Cup.

F1 TEST DRIVE: Three-time defending Champ Car champion Sebastien Bourdais will test drive for Formula One team Scuderia Toro Rosso in Spain this week. The 27-year-old Frenchman will drive at the Jerez circuit starting Wednesday, but Toro Rosso said Monday that Bourdais still plans to defend his Champ Car title next year. Marco Andretti, the 19-year-old grandson of Mario Andretti, will also test an F1 car this week at Jerez. The son of Michael Andretti will drive a Honda.
