Utah defensive back Eric Weddle won his seventh All-America honor of the season Tuesday when the Associated Press named him to its All-America second team. Weddle is one of just eight Utes ever to make an Associated Press All-America team, and the first since 2002, when offensive lineman Jordan Gross earned consensus All-America honors.
Weddle is Utah's first defensive AP All-American since Luther Elliss achieved consensus All-America status in 1994.
BYU senior tight end Jonny Harline was also honored as an AP third team offensive selection. Harline finished the regular season with 49 catches for 754 yards and 11 touchdowns.
