Obituary: George Kent Evans

George Kent Evans 1954 ~ 2007 Kent Evans, age 53, passed away July 20, 2007 in Salt Lake City due to complications of surgery. He was born in Ogden, UT to George and Lorraine Evans. He graduated from Olympus High School and attended the University of Utah. Kent married Pat Lefavor in the Salt Lake Temple, December 12, 1973, for time and all eternity. He passionately loved his wife and three daughters. Kent was always devoted to them with love, support, and friendship. He cheered his family on to greater success in whatever endeavor they were involved. Kent loved to watch Trish swim, Lindsay dance, and coach many of Allie's basketball games. He never missed a meet, a recital, or a game. Kent was a friend to all and helped anyone in need. His great acts of service are legendary in heaven and on earth. His smile and personality brightened people's lives. He will be missed by all, especially his loving family. Kent loved to fish, golf, and hunt and played many sports. He was very talented in athletics and successful in business, where he worked in sales at Lefavor Envelope Company. His work ethic was to be trusted and honored. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many high positions. He loved working with the youth and his fellowmen. Kent had a strong testimony of the gospel and took every opportunity to fulfill his stewardship on this earth. He loved his Heavenly Father and his Savior and always looked forward to the day that he could return with honor. He is now joined again with his loving parents and his heavenly family. He is survived by his wife, Pat; daughters, Trisha (Randy) Putnam, Lindsay, and Allie; siblings, Craig (Janet), and Judy Clark. Preceded in death by his parents; and brother-in-law, Greg Clark. Kent, we love you, and we wait to join you. The family would like to thank all who fasted, prayed and offered support on their behalf. Funeral services will be held Thursday, July 26th, 12 noon at the Granite Stake Center in Sandy, UT, 2535 E. Newcastle Drive (9040 So). Family and friends may call Wed-nesday from 6-8 p.m. and one hour prior to the service Thursday at the same location. Interment, Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park, 3401 Highland Drive, Salt Lake City, UT.
