PLAYER OF THE GAME

Brian Johnson

The senior QB completed 27-of-38 passes for 283 yards and five touchdowns. He also rushed for 31 yards in the lopsided win.

PLAY OF THE GAME

It took Utah just two plays and 10 seconds to take the ball away from San Diego State. A hit by linebacker Stevenson Sylvester forced a fumble by running back Tyler Campbell. Defensive end Koa Misi recovered it near midfield. The Utes' offense then marched downfield for the game's first score.

KEY CALL

Leading 7-0 midway through the first quarter, the Utes doubled their lead after converting on a pair of third-down situations on their second series of the game. In both instances, quarterback Brian Johnson teamed with receiver Bradon Godfrey on passes to move the chains and keep the drive alive.
