SEOUL, South Korea — Apolo Anton Ohno won the 500 meters of the World Short Track Speedskating Championships on Saturday, a day after being disqualified from a race.

The two-time Olympic champion finished in 42.568 to claim gold. He was disqualified from the 1,500-meter final on Friday.

In the 500, he finished ahead of Charles Hamelin of Canada, who skated in 42.625.
