MIDVALE — An open house will be held Thursday from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at Midvalley Elementary School, 217 W. 7800 South, to celebrate the school's 50th birthday.
There will be activities for children as well as memorabilia from former teachers and PTA scrapbooks. Five former principals will attend. Light refreshments will be served.
When it opened its doors, Midvalley was the first new school to be built in the Jordan District in 25 years. Eight classrooms and a library were added in 1962, and eight additional classrooms in 1979.
