Utah first lady Jeanette Herbert will be given the Utah State Poetry Society's "Words With Wings" award Oct. 10, 7 p.m., at the Salt Lake Main Library, 210 E. 400 South.
The Utah State Poetry Society, founded in 1950, has led Utah's mission of literacy for 60 years. Herbert presently serves as honorary chair of the governor's commission on literacy.
The public is invited.
