PORTLAND, Ore. — Police say three more Portland churches have been hit by vandals in the past 10 days.Detective
Mary Wheat says the targets have included a Church of Jesus Christ of
Latter-day Saints in the Sellwood area, All Saints Catholic Church and
Moreland Presbyterian Church.Walt Huber of the Mormon church says windows were broken there and damage will cost several thousand dollars to fix.Spokeswoman Wheat says none of the cases appear linked.She
says two men were arrested this week and charged with first-degree
criminal mischief in window damage at the Seventh-day Adventist Church
in southwest Portland.Hardest hit was Pilgrim Lutheran Church in
southeast Portland, where a vandal broke a stained glass window and
stuck a garden hose inside.Hundreds of gallons of water damaged the
chapel and basement. That damage happened late Monday or early Tuesday.Three cars were heavily damaged Sept. 1 at All Saints.
