DES MOINES, Iowa — The Utah Blaze (1-10) fell to their worst record in franchise history at the hands of the Iowa Barnstormers (8-3) in front of 9,582 fans at Wells Fargo Arena Saturday night, 68-32.

Iowa started off the scoring for the evening with a 23-yard touchdown pass from QB Ryan Vena (6-1, 225, Colgate) to WR Jesse Schmidt (6-3, 220, Buena Vista).

QB Brett Elliott (6-3, 210 Linfield) targeted WR Aaron Boone (6-3, 213, Kentucky) for their first touchdown of the night.

Boone was Elliott's main target for the evening, hauling in nine catches for 99 yards and three of the night's four touchdowns.

The Blaze were outscored by 23 points in the first half of play, entering the locker room trailing 49-26 at halftime.

Iowa essentially put the game out of reach at that point as it continued to dominate the Blaze in the second half of play, keeping the Blaze to one score.

Elliott connected on 24-of-39 passing for 229 yards. He threw four touchdowns passes and a pair of interceptions.

DB Patrick Body (6-2, 205, Toledo) led the defense with 6.0 total tackles.

The Blaze return home next week for their second-to-last home game of the season versus the Milwaukee Iron on Friday.

Kickoff is at 7 p.m. (MST).
