SARATOGA SPRINGS — Saratoga Springs will finally get a library.
After years of work by residents and city officials, a library could open in Saratoga Springs' city building as early as mid-January.
"Things are going really great," said Kim Tolman, a member of the library's newly created board of trustees. "The stars kind of aligned to make this happen."
Plans for a tenant in the city building to move elsewhere opened up a vacant spot, and the City Council allotted $10,000 to renovate the space as a library.
But the library will need much more than that to get up and running, Tolman said. Throughout the fall, volunteers will hold book drives and fundraisers to raise additional money and gather resources for the library, which will begin as a volunteer-run facility.
Donors also can give money through a trust fund at the Bank of American Fork.
