Utah made a move, even on a bye week.

The Utes, who were idle this week, moved up four spots to make their 2014 debut in the Amway Coaches Poll, coming in at No. 23.

They also jumped to No. 20 in the Associated Press Poll, up from No. 24.

There's also a new No. 1 team at the top in both polls, released Sunday. Mississippi State, coming off a 38-23 victory over then-No. 2 Auburn, overtook Florida State at the top.

In the coaches poll, the Bulldogs (1,490) moved up five spots and received one more vote than the Seminoles (1,489) to take the No. 1 ranking. Florida State (31) has more first-place votes than Mississippi State (26).

Rounding out the top five are Mississippi, Baylor and Notre Dame.

The top five is the same in the AP poll.

Utah is back in action this week with a Thursday matchup against Oregon State, which received 10 votes in the coaches poll. Last week, the Utes knocked off then-No. 8/9 UCLA.

The Bruins, who lost their second straight game by falling to Oregon, dropped out of the top 25 in both polls. They were one of three teams to do so in the coaches poll, allowing the Utes to slip into the rankings.
