Marc Hunter, a member of the LDS Church, was recently named the 2014 recipient of the Frank Kovaleski Professional Development Award presented by the National Interscholastic Athletic Administrators Association.

Hunter was the athletic director at Jordan High School in Sandy for 30 years. During his 34 years at the school, he taught math, coached girls basketball, track and field and had one-year stints as the school’s football, baseball and boys soccer coach, according to a news release.

He continues to serve as the executive director of the Utah Interscholastic Athletic Administrators Association and has served in a variety of positions in the state and national organizations.

In 2014, he was inducted into the UIAAA Hall of Fame and received the group’s Meritorious Service Award in 2005, according to the release.

Hunter currently serves as the priest quorum advisor in the Quail Hollow Ward of the Sandy Granite Stake of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and as a temple worker.
