"MAYBE TODAY: A Simple Approach to a Soul-Satisfying Life," by David Butler and Emily Belle Freeman, Ensign Peak, $15.99, 111 pages (nf)

Utah authors and bloggers David Butler and Emily Belle Freeman unite to write "Maybe Today: A Simple Approach to a Soul-Satisfying Life." Butler, who is also a high school religious teacher, and Freeman, an inspirational speaker, share their advice to turn the not-so-good day into a day that satisfies the soul.

Using scripture stories from the Holy Bible and life of Jesus Christ, along with quotes and stories from famous and historical figures, "Maybe Today" can inspire to take a day that may be lacking in some way and turn it into the fulfilling day it has the potential to become.

Organizing the book into five patterns to follow, "Maybe Today" is easy to implement and apply into one's life. The first pattern, Tilt Your Soul, encourages a life of prayer. The second pattern, Let Down Your Bucket, advises to study and ponder the word of God. Seek a Compassionate Detour, the third pattern, proves that service to others is sometimes the best medicine for an aching soul. The fourth pattern, Take Off Your Shoes, shows how to recognize heaven in a person's daily life and be grateful for all things. The book finishes with the fifth pattern, Be All In. This last pattern inspires one to not hesitate in living a life pointed to Christ at all times.

The authors believe that when these patterns are followed, the reader will grow closer to Jesus Christ and the small moments in each day will satisfy the soul and lead to a happy life.

Alongside the poetic and inspiring words are beautiful pictures to help bring each story to life and further soothe the soul, setting the mood and encouraging introspection and self-improvement.
