MY HOME CAN BE A HOLY PLACE,” by Kristen M. Oaks, illustrated by Dan Burr, Deseret Book, $18.99, 28 pages

Through the eyes of a girl named Lily, Sister Kristen M. Oaks shares more than a dozen ways families can create homes that are holy places in the picture book “My Home Can Be a Holy Place.”

The ideas include prayer, having family home evening, eating meals together, honoring the Sabbath, celebrating traditions and working together.

Sister Oaks, wife of Elder Dallin H. Oaks of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, also includes scriptures and quotes from church leaders.

It shares simple ideas that can be implemented one or more at a time to help families feel the Spirit in their homes.

Illustrator Dan Burr’s paintings help depict each idea with Lily and her family. Burr also illustrated “One Little Match,” “The Christmas Train” and “The Testimony Glove.”

Sister Oaks is sharing ideas from the book plus those from others on homecanbeaholyplace.com, which also serves as a place for people to contribute ideas
