Baptists and members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints participated in an interfaith Christmas concert on Sunday at the Mount Moriah Baptist Church in Los Angeles, California.
In a video posted Wednesday by the Mormon Newsroom, members of both congregations said their experiences at the concert were faith-building and unifying. According to the Mormon Newsroom, about 600 people attended the event, one of the largest turnouts in its history.
Singer Alex Boyé performed Christmas songs during the concert.
"We all have the same problems, the same challenges, and we all worship the same way and worship the same person, and I think that was the big come-away for me," said Boyé in the video. "... We have the same thing that drives us. Really, if you really, really look deep down, the same thing that drives us is our love for Jesus Christ."
Pastor L.A. Kessee of the Bethany Baptist Church said he saw "unity under the umbrella of Jesus Christ" at the event.
