A question posed by Kirk Chugg's son sparked an idea that the entrepreneur has turned into a movement, according to an article by Forbes contributor Cheryl Conner.

One night, Chugg's son asked him to define the word "gentleman," and Chugg realized he should be having regular conversations with his children about the meaning of a term he often uses. In an effort to coach his children and connect with them, the Ogden resident created what he calls The Gentlemen Project.

The purpose of the project is "to strengthen families and society by preserving and teaching the art of being a gentleman," according to thegentlemenproject.com.

"The experiences and conversations I was having with my sons each night were nothing short of profound," Chugg wrote on thegentlemenproject.org. "I found myself afterward talking to my wife about how amazing this little habit was and how much closer I felt to my sons. In reality, what it was doing for me was just as important as what it was doing for them."
