Utah football: Twitter reaction varies after the Utes crack the polls

The University of Utah football team moved to 3-0 after its 34-17 win over San Jose State Saturday and was rewarded Sunday with spots in the coaches poll and AP Top 25 poll.

Following the releases of the rankings that saw the Utes slotted 23rd in the coaches poll and 24th in the AP poll, Twitter users reacted to with a variety of commentaries.

Happy

Some fans were excited to see Utah back in the polls after it finished 2015 ranked 16th in the coaches poll and 17th in the AP poll but entered 2016 unranked.

Confused

The Utes' spots in the rankings left some Twitter users confused for different reasons. A number of people didn't think Utah deserved to be ranked, while others thought Kyle Whittingham's club was somewhat disrespected coming in the polls lower than some squads with worse records.

I didn't think the Utes would be ranked, but enough people ahead of them lost. They haven't impressed, that's for sure.

This is why Pre-season rankings are dumb. Oklahoma can still get blown out twice but remain in the top 25 because they were overrated.

BYU

Naturally, a few references were made on Twitter to the BYU Cougars after the rankings were released.

So Ole Miss is 1-2 and ranked. Oklahoma is 1-2 and ranked.
