JENSEN, Uintah County — Police believe they have found the bodies of three Vernal men missing for a month.
Three bodies were discovered inside a truck in the Green River on Wednesday. A crane was being used to lift the pickup out of the water.
The Uintah County Sheriff's Office believes the bodies of Robert Alan Spoon, 33, Jason Ralph Tilt, 33, and Jacob Douglas Tilt, 29, are inside. The three have been missing since May 22.
Uintah County Sheriff Vance Norton confirmed that divers spotted three bodies in the vehicle. The search area near Jensen was a "targeted area" as part of the ongoing effort, according to a prepared statement from the sheriff's office.
"At approximately 11:30 a.m., a vehicle matching that of the missing persons was located and pulled from the river. Investigators have moved the vehicle to an undisclosed location and are processing the vehicle to determine occupants, cause and manner in which the vehicle left the roadway," the sheriff's office stated.
The bodies will be transported to the Utah State Medical Examiner's Office.
The men were last seen in a black 2004 Chevrolet Silverado truck. They were reported missing to Vernal police on May 26 after family members had not heard from them for several days.
