SALT LAKE CITY — Macaulay Culkin says he’s officially changing his legal name for 2019.
Starting in 2019, the “Home Alone” star will be known as “Macaulay Macaulay Culkin Culkin.”
That’s right. His middle name will now be his first and last name.
Flashback: Earlier this year, Culkin appeared on “The Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon,” where he plugged his website BunnyEars. He said the site was conducting a poll where people could vote on Culkin’s new last name.
Results: According to the poll results, the name Macaulay Culkin (60,990 votes) won out over the others, defeating Shark Week (7,515 votes), Kieran (which came from his brother Kieran Culkin to earn 13,559 votes), TheMcRibIsBack (14,558 votes) and Publicity Stunt (9,644 votes).
"In 2019 my new legal name will be: Macaulay Macaulay Culkin Culkin," he wrote on Twitter. "It has a nice ring to it (if you like my name)."
Culkin said the new middle name will offer him an opportunity to joke with fans, according to USA Today.
"So, if somebody comes up to me at the airport, and says, 'Excuse me, are you, Macaulay Culkin?' I'd go, 'Well Macaulay Culkin is my middle name," he said.
Elsewhere: Culkin appeared in a Google Christmas commercial this holiday season. As I explained on the day the commercial dropped, the commercial paid homage to Culkin’s film “Home Alone,” with Culkin appearing as an older version of Kevin McAllister.
