Nothing is off the table in 2019 — not even a college admissions scandal Halloween costume.
Yandy, an online retailer for Halloween costumes, has listed a new “college scandal costume” for this Halloween season. It will cost $70.
“Oops, you can’t always trust those motherly instincts. Turns out fame and intelligence don’t go hand in hand!” Yandy’s description reads. “Bribe your way to the admissions office and score the ultimate scholarly achievement (the best mom award!).”
The costume includes a crop top that says “inmate” with “mom of the year” crossed out. The pants include “Yandy University” written on the leg.
What it says: The costume is a direct reference to the college admissions scandal, and is a reference to Huffman and Loughlin, the two celebrity mothers named in the controversy earlier this year. Huffman was recently sentenced to 14 days in prison, while Loughlin pleaded not guilty and is expected to go to trial over the scandal.
More digs: Yandy tweeted about the costume, writing, “Can’t row your way out of this one.” That’s a direct reference to Loughlin, who is accused of paying $500,000 in bribes so that her daughters, Olivia Jade and Isabella Rose Giannulli, could be team crew recruits for the University of Southern California.
Controversy: Yandy is known for controversy. The company fell under fire last year for releasing a sexy “Handmaid’s Tale” costume, which was later pulled from stores after public outcry, CNN reports.
