SALT LAKE CITY — “When Calls the Heart” is getting another Christmas movie this year.
The new film will be called “When Calls the Heart Christmas,” which will likely focus on the town of Hope Valley during the Christmas season.
Interestingly, “When Calls the Heart Christmas” was also the name of the season four premiere episode of “When Calls the Heart.”
The cast for the new film includes the normal cast of “When Calls the Heart,” including Erin Krakow, Pascale Hutton, Jack Wagner, Kavan Smith, Kevin McGarry, Paul Greene, Chris McNally, Martin Cummins, and Andrea Brooks, according to Country Living.
There is no mention of Lori Loughlin, who played Abigail Stanton on the show before Hallmark severed ties with the actress. Loughlin was accused in the college admissions scandal, which led to her exit from the show.
Her character, Mayor Abigail Stanton, left the town of Hope Valley. She previously appeared in other “When Calls the Heart” Christmas films.
So when will “When Calls the Heart Christmas” air? Well, last year’s special, “When Calls the Heart: The Greatest Christmas Blessing” dropped on Christmas Day. The special was the most-watched scripted cable drama of the entire week of Christmas, according to Deadline, which could be a sign that the film will drop on the same day.
