SALT LAKE CITY — A Chick-fil-A manager in North Carolina delivered free chicken sandwiches to employees at a rival Popeyes store, according to WCNC-TV.

The Chick-fil-A manager delivered the sandwiches to Popeyes employees who normally visited the Chick-fil-A store for breakfast.

Jene Walker, of Greensboro, N.C., noticed the exchange happen on Monday when they visited Popeyes to try the new chicken sandwich, which has gone viral across the internet, sparking a war between Chick-fil-A and Popeyes.

Walker said she saw a Chick-fil-A employee handing out Chick-fil-A sandwiches to Popeyes employees, according to FOX 4.

“I was joking with him, like, ‘What are you doing over here? That’s weird you’re over here with a Chick-fil-A bag at Popeyes.’ Just the timing was weird,” Walker said, according to FOX 4 News.

She said that the man noticed Popeyes had been crowded and decided to bring employees sandwiches “out of the kindness of his heart,” said Walker.
